Mycoprotein from the fungus Fusarium venenatum is one of the most carefully tested food products on the European market. It was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for sale in the United Kingdom in 1984, after over a decade of research. So yes, it is perfectly safe to consume! Unless you are sensitive to fungi.
